✦ EU imposes sanctions on cryptocurrency entities involved in election interference and disinformation:

The European Union has imposed sanctions on several entities for utilizing cryptocurrencies to bypass restrictions, fund pro-Russian disinformation efforts, and interfere in elections. On Tuesday, nine individuals and six entities were sanctioned under the EU’s Common Foreign and Security Policy. Notably, Kremlin-affiliated influencer Simeon Boikov, known as AussieCossack, was targeted for disseminating false information, including a fake video alleging voter fraud in the 2024 US elections. A report from TRM Labs indicated that Boikov solicited donations through various channels, including cash and cryptocurrencies.
