My no vote as it stands is in line with President Trump’s January 23rd executive order banning a government-controlled Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC). If the GENIUS Act becomes law tomorrow, it will allow a back door to a CBDC. I cannot support this. My constituents and millions of Americans who care about protecting their financial privacy from government overreach do not support any CBDC. With this vote, I am standing with the American people and President Trump against the surveillance state.
