Reports reaching us confirm that the Nigeria Police Force has begun mandatory internal lectures warning officers and men not to participate in the upcoming #PoliceProtest scheduled for July 21, 2025. These so-called “lectures” are nothing more than veiled threats. Police officers are being told that anyone caught supporting or participating in the protest will face severe disciplinary action, including dismissal or criminal prosecution. This is a direct violation of fundamental rights, including the right to peaceful assembly and the right to demand better working and living conditions. It is also a cowardly attempt to suppress the growing wave of dissent within the police force for the greater good. But the Movement Grows Stronger... Despite ongoing intimidation, repression, and deception, we are emboldened by the resolve we have witnessed. From the streets to the barracks, there is a growing determination among police personnel both active and retired to participate in the historic #PoliceProtest on July 21, 2025. This protest is not just about pay or pensions. It is a cry for dignity, a stand against institutionalized servitude, and a demand for justice within the force and across the country. July XX is set.
