$VEON could be allowed to bid for and merge with govt-owned Mobiuz, the fourth largest mobile operator in Uzbekistan. Beeline, as Veon Ltd is commercially known in the country, is the largest mobile operator in that market. The govt intends to raise US$300M from the sale. Mobiuz is said to have reported EBITDA of US$41M in 2024.
