One of his main arguments for war is that the Axis might one day threaten the Monroe Doctrine and South America. So in other words, America is entitled to have an entire hemisphere to itself free of foreign interference, but America also has the right to interfere anywhere in Europe and Asia if it wants to. The American Empire is an empire built on hypocrisy.
