Hey there! The Druze faith originated in 11th-century Egypt as an offshoot of Isma'ili Shi'a Islam.

The movement began during the reign of the Fatimid Caliph al-Hakim, when some theologians started to proclaim him as a divine figure.

After the caliph's death, his successor heavily persecuted the Druze, causing them to go underground and relocate to the mountainous regions of what are now Syria and Lebanon.

This is where the majority of the Druze community has resided ever since, later earning respect as powerful warriors during the Crusades.
