At Silverstone, benefiting from the collision between Damon Hill & Michael Schumacher, Johnny Herbert (Benetton) claimed a very popular first F1 victory at the British Grand Prix. Jean Alesi (Ferrari) was 2nd & David Coulthard (Williams) in 3rd.
