The initiative represents a significant investment in the district’s tourism and is expected to boost local tourism by facilitating transport on Lake MIRAYI, a key natural attraction in Bugesera District. The project cost around XX million Rwf. Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Maj Gen Kagame commended the cooperative for its initiative and praised the spirit of collaboration among them. He encouraged members of the cooperative to continue working collectively, noting that cooperatives are an effective model for socio-economic development. He also reaffirmed the RDF’s commitment to supporting such initiatives, especially those that demonstrate a strong vision for community development. The Governor of Eastern Province pledged the province's full support wherever needed, emphasizing that the project is designed to enhance both the well-being of residents and the development of tourism in the region. He underscored the province’s commitment to helping the initiative grow and succeed, highlighting the shared responsibility to ensure its long-term impact.
