The idea of Judaism as a religion is an enlightenment construct. Traditionally Jews were and are a nation and the commandments are our laws.

To say the Jew views the world views the world as divided between Jews and non-Jews is to say a Lebanese views the world as divided between Lebanese and non-Lebanese.
