Moroccan football legend Ahmed Faras has passed away after a long battle with illness. Faras, a pivotal figure in Moroccan and African football history, leaves behind a distinguished legacy.

Ahmed Faras began his illustrious football career in 1960 with Chabab Mohammedia club, where he rose to stardom. He later became a long-serving member of the national team, cementing his reputation as one of the greatest players at both the Arab and African levels.

His most historic achievement came when he became the first Arab player to win the African Ballon d'Or award, following Morocco's triumph in the 1976 Africa Cup of Nations.
