One of the major leavers we have in web3 is using incentives to attract users. The issue is often teams use these mechanisms to retain users. This gives a false sense of product market fit.

I think using incentives as user aquisition make sense. Similar to spending $X on ads to acquire a user spending X tokens is god UA spend. Continuing to spend to retain I think is dangerous.

Teams should try to turn off these mechanisms to see what their true baseline is. Otherwise you may think you have product market fit when you don't.
