Undocumented immigrants are not eligible for Medicaid, even under the EMTLA. There are no carve outs in Medicaid for undocumented immigrants. So when republicans cut $880B from Medicaid, they’re cutting it from hospitals and from American citizens who have been eligible up to now. So what you’re saying is that because hospitals eat the cost of caring for undocumented immigrants, and hospitals get a huge amount of funding from Medicaid that you think might be going towards emergency healthcare for some undocumented immigrants, that’s worth taking it away from citizens and shutting down hospitals.
