Many people may not be familiar with the term ‘time preference.’ What does it mean?   It’s simply the ability to sacrifice the present in exchange for a better future.   In other words, the higher your time preference, the lower your ability to choose a better future — it’s the anxiety of immediate consumption.

This concept explains a lot of today’s problems, especially when paired with currency devaluation and credit-fueled spending.   We live through debt, not through saving.

Drawing a parallel to the $GRIN chart, I see many anxious ones rushing to realize minimal profits — driven by fear or greed — when they could easily reap greater rewards by holding patiently.

But hey, everyone lives by their own choices.   Just like that.
