The trio, alongside other prominent figures including ex-Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, were seen offering prayers for the repose of Buhariโs soul. Buhari, a former military Head of State and two-term civilian President, died on Sunday at a clinic in London at the age of XX. His remains were flown back to Nigeria on Tuesday by Vice President Kashim Shettima and President Bola Tinubuโs Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila. Tinubu, accompanied by a high-powered federal delegation, received the body at Katsina Airport. The late President was immediately taken to his Daura residence, where he was buried in line with Islamic rites and accorded full military honours, including a 21-gun salute. Before his final trip to London, Buhari had received Atiku, El-Rufai, and members of the opposition coalition at his Kaduna residence in what would turn out to be one of his last public gatherings.
