If you are a bright young person from the global south who were accepted to Harvard and École Polytechnic for a PhD, you need to be crazy to go to Harvard these days. 

Lots of wealth in the U.S. was built by immigrants (Tesla, Nvidia, Broadcom, modern-day Microsoft...)
