Whether Manchester United were going to hire Ruben Amorim or not, the squad needed a rebuild. That was always going to take time & money.

The club are not buying players for Amorim - they're not buying them at all right now - they're for multiple systems & styles, X at the back or otherwise.

Amorim knew the financial situation when he joined, he's spoken about it. He knows the time it will take to transform this into a cohesive squad.

Every new manager after Erik ten Hag was going to tear it down to the studs to repair the disastrous state it was in. It's not a new problem, it's a long time coming.

The entire club needs modernising. Not everyone has the patience for it & accepting that is tough to swallow.
