Buhari Legacy 05: Development Bank of Nigeria (DBN)

In 2017, as part of its Economic Reform Agenda, the Buhari-led administration established and funded the Development Bank of Nigeria (DBN) in an effort to bridge the funding gap for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Nigeria. 

Ownership Structure: 
The Bank is owned by the following stakeholders:

-Federal Government of Nigeria
-World Bank
-African Development Bank (AfDB)
-European Investment Bank (EIB)
-French Development Agency (AFD)
-KfW Development Bank (Germany

Achievements: 
-Over N600bn has been disbursed in loans tl MSMEs
-Supported over XXXXXXX MSMEs as at 2023
-Over XX banks and MFIs 
-Over 1.2m jobs directly or indirectly created

The DBN is Nigeria’s strategy to empower MSMEs, strengthen the financial sector, and drive inclusive economic growth. And this too is a BUHARI LEGACY PROJECT.
