No Russian ambassador summoned. No EU sanctions demanded. No crying on Facebook. No national mourning. Not even a single fucking press release from Orbán. Nothing. But fast-forward to 2025: Sebestyén József dies, a 45-year-old ethnic Hungarian, reportedly of pulmonary embolism, and suddenly the entire propaganda apparatus lights up like a Christmas tree. The Hungarian government summons the Ukrainian ambassador, demands EU sanctions against Ukrainian officials, and Orbán himself shares a melodramatic video on social media. Except for one massive fucking problem: the man in the video with bruises on his left arm isn’t even Sebestyén. According to experts like Rácz András, part of the footage Orbán peddled as proof of Sebestyén being “beaten to death” is actually of a completely different guy, a 40-year-old mobilized man with bruises on his left arm, who had nothing to do with Sebestyén’s case. So not only is the Hungarian government milking a tragic death for propaganda, they’re lying through their teeth while doing it. This is political necrophilia. Orbán didn’t give a flying fuck when Russians decapitated a Hungarian, but now that he sees a chance to bash Ukraine, he’s suddenly the defender of the nation. Not because he cares. Because it’s useful. Because for him, dead Hungarians only matter when they can be turned into tools to prop up his Russia-apologist, anti-West bullshit. When Russians murder a Hungarian, he shuts his mouth and looks the other way. But when Ukraine detains someone during a controversial mobilization and a disputed medical event follows, suddenly he’s in full crusader mode, with edited footage, false claims, and righteous fury. There’s a word for that. Hypocrisy. Weaponized grief. Treasonous cowardice. He’s not defending Hungarians. He’s defending the fucking Kremlin.
