In Africa there are many old West African families with private library collections dated back to the 8th Century A.D. with XXXXXX books in private collections in Niger 🇳🇪. 

While in Mauritanian 🇲🇷 cities of Chinguetti and Oudane there are a total of XXXXX hand written mediaeval books and XXXXX books surviving in the other city of Walata. Meanwhile in Timbuktu, Mali 🇲🇱 , there are about XXXXXXX surviving books.
