Martin Brundle explains Horner's farewell:

— Martin Brundle discussed the circumstances surrounding Chris Horner's departure from Red Bull, attributing it to internal conflicts rather than team performance. Speaking to Sky UK, Brundle remarked:

“It's absolutely clear that the Verstappen team has relentlessly attacked him in recent months. Some of these attacks have been successful, and I believe that sometimes Jos has made it clear that in his opinion Christian should not have led the company and the team.”

— The tension between Horner and the Verstappen camp, including Jos Verstappen and Helmut Marko, played a significant role in Horner's exit. Brundle elaborated:

“The Verstappen played a key role in Christian's exit. You can't know for sure if you're not there, but from some things I've known, heard and seen, I think they were quite involved in this decision.”

— The 2024 truce between the Verstappen clan and Red Bull's ownership was primarily due to the potential of winning the World Cup. However, the RB21's lack of competitiveness against McLarens reignited tensions, culminating in Horner's dismissal after two decades of success.

— A heated discussion at Silverstone between Jos Verstappen and Horner, witnessed by Paul Smith, further strained relations. Reports suggest that Horner's departure was orchestrated during a meeting in Austria, with Helmut Marko representing the Verstappen interests.
