In 1980, Mom used her savings to buy Grandma a black and white TV. It was the 1st TV in the neighborhood. All neighborhood kids would come to Grandma's house to watch TV. I was a popular kid.

Dad sent money frm the US in 1985 for us to buy a Japanese fridge. China didn't make fridge til 1986
