Police in Limpopo have disrupted an illegal gold processing operation at Mavalani village near the Nsami River on Tuesday, XX July 2025. Two women were arrested after attempting to flee the scene. Officers seized tools, buckets, bags of suspected gold, a scale, and other mining equipment. The operation was led by the Mopani District Vala Umgodi Task Team as part of ongoing efforts to combat illegal mining. Investigations are continuing to trace more suspects and dismantle the broader network. Authorities urge the public to report any illegal mining activities.
