But that’s only part of the equation – what happened underground is partially the result of what happens above ground, which the city is responsible for. The wastewater system is actually older than the subway and is emblematic of a City that needs to be properly managed with a regularly scheduled maintenance and repair program instead of the current plan which is ‘let’s wait until something goes wrong and then we’ll fix it.’ New Yorkers deserve better. They deserve better leadership and management.
