Hedera’s aBFT consensus means there’s no block leader—so no one can reorder transactions for MEV profit, unlike on $ETH or $BTC where leaders pick and arrange txs. Every node gossips txs, finality is fast, and fair ordering is protocol-enforced, closing the door to front-running and sandwich attacks.

Case studies from DeFi pilots and enterprise deployments highlight this “MEV-immune” design as a critical factor for adoption. The lack of a public mempool and deterministic virtual voting make MEV extraction nearly impossible, as confirmed in research by Reflexivity and others.
