On Love Island, people pick a partner to be super close with, like best friends who might fall in love. Chelley and Ace were super close everyone thought they were in love! At Casa Amor, Chelley liked a new guy, Chris, but chose Ace as her partner. Still, she acted possessive over Chris, getting mad when Huda, who was paired with Chris, kissed him. Huda and Chris were a couple, so they were allowed to explore their connection, but Chelley made Huda feel like she was wrong for it, like she had to be super careful with how she interacted with Chris or Chelley would get upset. It was like she wanted Huda to walk on eggshells and it made her afraid to act normal with her own partner.

In a dance challenge, Huda danced with Ace, and some thought it was too wild. Huda was wrong for going overboard, but Chelley got really mad at her, said, “I don’t want to talk about it tonight” and then proceeded to talk badly about Huda to other islanders and ignored her for a whole day. People think Chelley was mad about the dance because she already had a grudge against Huda over Chris, not just because of the dance. But she didn’t get mad at Ace, who danced and touched Huda too, which was unfair. Huda apologized for her dance, but Chelley never said sorry for anything. Not for being mad about Chris when she had no right, ignoring Huda, or talking behind her back. She did apologize to Ace for liking Chris though.

People don’t like Chelley because she was a hypocrite. Earlier, in another challenge, Huda’s partner, Jeremiah, got attention from other girls, and Chelley told Huda, “It’s just a game, don’t be mad!” but then got mad at Huda over a challenge. Chelley took her anger out on Huda, blaming her for the dance when it was really about her own feelings about Chris. Not admitting this or saying sorry to Huda is called not taking accountability.

It’s like blaming a friend for something when you’re actually mad about something else, and not apologizing for being mean. This made Chelley seem rude, selfish, and like a mean girl, especially since she talked badly about Huda behind her back after refusing to talk. People think if Chelley had said, “Sorry for being unfair and making Huda feel bad,” she’d seem nicer, but she didn’t, so they see her as someone who won’t own up to her hypocrisy.
