Yeah I played poker professionally so am totally sick re: losing large sums of money (as long as I make the right decision have to lose a tonne before I care at all). 

And I still blame other investing pros for when I make a bad decision based on their comments. have to actively tell myself that’s not what happened lol. No problem taking XXX% of the credit when it works out tho. 

Just tell family to buy SPY.
