The S&P XXX is showing a prime example of why I don't value gaps when price isn't already in close proximity.

Same with $BTC CME gaps as explained yesterday.

These can be useful if price trades close to them. But the moment you are several percentages out, the potential effect these could have on price is pretty diminished and it's wise to just forget about them at some point.

As can be seen on the $SPX chart here over the past couple of months. Many gaps open. Yes, some might get filled at some point. But if you faded each and every one of them the moment they were made you wouldn't have had a good time.
