Before we talk about Dexes let’s go back in time. In 2018, the Ethereum community, leveraging its first-mover advantage and strong network effects, confidently asserted its future dominance of all blockspace. 

This narrative was backed by crypto OGs and bought in by the crypto community. $ETH was later challenged by the emergence of a myriad of L1s like $SOL, $LUNA, $AVAX, $TRX, $ADA, $SUI, $SEI, $ATOM, $INJ etc..
