Shenyang: A hidden gem to visit.
I lived there for years, and I love everything there. Every time I travel to our Shenyang branch for work, it feels just like coming home.
It’s the biggest city in Northeast China and used to be the early capital of the Qing Dynasty, so there's a lot of cool historical stuff here—like the Shenyang Imperial Palace (basically a mini Forbidden City) and the Zhaoling Tomb, which is huge and tucked inside a beautiful park full of pine trees.
Beyond the history, Shenyang has a super chill local vibe. The food scene is so good—think dumplings, grilled skewers (chuan’r), and hearty Northeastern comfort food. You’ll find awesome night markets, cozy cafes, and even some up-and-coming art districts.
Bonus: it’s way cheaper and less crowded than places like Beijing or Shanghai, and people here are genuinely friendly.
