He also has confirmed that representatives of the player have travelled to our training base in Austria for more talks, after we were in Germany for the first round of talks, and he believes that there is a 'real chance' that this club record deal could get done!!!!! 🤯💥 In addition he confirmed that this will NOT be to directly replace Isak, who they still want to sign a new extended contract, but to equip Newcastle United to challenge on multiple fronts. Ekitike is a player who can play left, right, as a XX and as a forward or false X. Bringing him in now gives us fantastic options for Eddie Howe in the here and now and future proofs us in case there is any sale of Isak in the future with a successor already in situ and used to our club and system! It makes sense in every way. The fee being requested is €100m/£85m and Newcastle value him less but still above what we paid for record signing Alexander Isak. Keith believes a significant fee at around £70 to £75m is where they'll look to aim a deal for.
