Federal Air Marshals are being told to use “dry fire” because TSA is low on ammunition.

I reached out to TSA about this and a spokesperson tells me, “No, TSA is not running out of ammo. Federal Air Marshals train for a variety of diverse situations. Live fire drills constitute only a portion of this training. Dry firing, which involves practicing with unloaded firearms, is a critical component of skill-building drills, enhancing muscle memory, trigger discipline, and situational awareness in controlled environments.”

My Federal Air Marshal source still claims officers are currently being told to preserve ammunition and use “dry fire” in order to stay sharp.
