James Gunn's Superman was blatantly pro-Americana, pro-adoption, and pro-nuclear family.

The villain is a Big Tech oligarch, and the TV news establishment tries to destroy Superman with a fake news hit piece.

Sounds pretty MAGA to me.

That's why Gunn and his dopey brother are doing the goofball pandering to the left in media appearances: 
as @NolteNC wrote, it's an inoculation. 

In totality, its political messaging is all over the place and the plot is a big mess, but overall it was fun enough for me.
