They’re expanding from their western Mexico stronghold and pushing into the northeast, siding with the Gulf Cartel (who created the Zetas). One might be encouraged to see infighting, but don’t be fooled. CJNG is by far the deadliest and most bloodthirsty cartel. It makes our duty to engage with Mexico in a counter-terrorism strategy all the more urgent.
