I have no crystal ball on this one except that I know Buffett's circle of competence are truck stops and convenience stores. If and that's a big IF, Alimentation Couche-Tard does figure out a way to acquire 7&i / 7-Eleven and needs to divest hundreds/thousands of stores in the US to throw the US anti-comp regulators off the scent, then I think Abel and Buffett should be ready to pull the trigger. I hope they can get this done. Wouldn't that be lovely for all involved.
