After Epstein was arrested, Trump was asked about his Labor Secretary, Alex Acosta. Acosta was the U.S. Attorney who approved Epstein's deal in 2008. Trump said that he had never met Acosta before he became President and that he would look into it. On July 10th, apparently at Trump's behest, Acosta gave a XX minute press conference, answering a wide range of questions on the subject. Many of his answers make sense. Some seem evasive. He was also very unapologetic. He comes across as sleazy and opportunistic, but much of the information being passed around right now is simply not true. On July 12th, Trump and Acosta jointly announced Acosta's resignation. Trump didn't want to deal with this headache. And yet here we are, all over again.
