In December 2011, the National Association of Realtors revised its existing home sales figures downward for the years leading up to and during the housing bubble and crash (2007–2010). Key points:

Sales from 2007 to 2010 were revised down by XX% overall.

The number of existing home sales in 2010 was revised from XXXX million to XXXX million.

These changes made the housing crash look even worse in hindsight—sales and demand were lower than thought during the boom, and the downturn deeper.
