PENTAGON AWARDS AI CONTRACTS WORTH UP TO $200M TO xAI, OPENAI, OTHERS

The Department of Defense is awarding contracts—each with a ceiling of $200M—to OpenAI, xAI, Google, and Anthropic to accelerate AI adoption across military and government systems, per Bloomberg’s Jackie Davalos. The deals are part of a “commercial-first” approach, allowing other federal agencies to tap into these tools through the GSA.

xAI also announced “Grok for Government,” a new suite tailored for public sector use.
