Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) is set to begin issuing new electronic motor vehicle registration certificates (eMVRC) effective Monday, July 21, 2025.

Under the new regime, TAJ will no longer issue physical copies of MVRCs, decals or stickers. Additionally, the validity periods for the eMVRC will expand from the usual six months or one year to also include an option for two years, depending on the motorist’s preference.
