I'd have to go to the tech team for such info. 
Seems pretty normal for miners to flock to a protocol with high rewards. The high compute output is normally seen as hashrate in other protocols but in Qubic it actually does something. Imagine if Bitcoin was on Useful Proof of Work. 
Aug. 20th will show a lot. After all the miner rewards get cut in half.
