Colombian city unveils gigantic bronze statue of Sophia Vergara. 

The city of Barranquilla, where the actress was born, has unveiled the XXX meter tall statue to honor the actress on her birthday. 

Vergara took to Instagram to thank the city and its people for the honor: 

 “I owe all that I have accomplished to the strength, the willpower, and the joy I breathe on this earth. This statue is not only in my honor, but in honor of the Barranquillero people and in honor of my family and friends who have always been with me. I love them so much!”

The sculpture behind the statue previously designed a statue for Colombian singer Shakira.
