The constant ‘Celtic are interested’ - ‘Celtic are monitoring’ - ‘Celtic considering a move’ is getting very boring. Yes, there has to be an element of patience. We want the right players, not another Holm, Lagerbielke or Palma. However there’s clear areas we have to address & that needs to be done before our UCL Play-Off… ideally for the season starting. A striker coming in is massive for us, it has to be a priority. Now let’s add to that, wingers, another left-back, another quality centre-back & ideally another centre-mid. Nobody is asking the club to go spend £10M, we’re asking the recruitment to get more hits than misses which in recent years… you’d have to say they haven’t. O’Riley, Maeda, Hatate, Ajer, Dembele, Frimpong etc were all signed for less than £2M & shows that we don’t have to spend big just spend right. Of course you then have the likes of Holm, Yang, Kwon, Palma etc which were deals that didn’t work out well. Recent seasons it feels a little like quantity over quantity & it’s something we have to get away from. Instead of bulking the squad full of foreigners who aren’t good enough for our starting XI I’d rather see that money spent on players who have more of a chance of a direct impact. This would then mean we can have those players on the periphery of the team bulked with academy players & maybe then we wouldn’t lose so many. There’s a long way to go in the window, I’ll hold on to some optimism that we will start to get deals done over the next few weeks 🤞 XXXXXX engagements **Related Topics** [5m](/topic/5m) [Post Link](https://x.com/aboutceltic/status/1944776502698000550)
