Tether is discontinuing redemptions for USDT on Omni, SLP, Kusama, EOS, and Algorand.

Imagine we pay them from the Cardano treasury for deployment, and they decide to leave after a while.

Circle and Tether are not good partners for us. Let's support our stablecoins.
