China's record $990B trade surplus in 2024 would have been a flat balance of trade if China's 2024 gold imports (1,384t) were valued at ~$22,000/oz.

IE - the issue isn't China's trade imbalance w/the world, the issue is the USD is wildly overvalued v. gold.
