Some very brief thoughts on this, which we’ll speaking about tonight. All X places apart from Tom Kim (5).

Henley: The value bet of the week and will no doubt be very popular. World number 6, 5th at last year’s Open, T2 at the Travelers on his last time out. It really doesn’t make much sense him being priced at 66/1. I have however fell for the Henley trap before so proceed with caution.

Fox: I’ve been on him the last couple weeks and it’s safe to say I was massively disappointed by him at Scotland. His putting was shocking but ball striking was mainly there. I’m not jumping off the ship yet and you can still get him at 66s. His game suits this test to a tee, let’s just hope he can sort out his putting.

Novak: God I love Andy Noves for this. Great ball striker with a solid short game which is vital for this week. How he will cope in the potential conditions expected remains to be seen but definitely a decent price with each-way value.

Antepost losers:

Potgieter: jumped on him after he won us a few dingo dollars at the Rocket. I don’t necessarily think his game suits Portrush but it’s a big price 200/1 (and still available) and he has links history, winning the Amateur Championship as a teenager. He’s a huge talent who will only get better.

Tom Kim: FOMO bet, jumped on him at a huge 200/1 after a decent Scottish Open. He can’t putt however so maybe look elsewhere. Embrace the chaos if you’re joining the Tom Kim party.

Dan Brown: won at a big event in the BMW in Munich a few weeks back and will be back for more after flirting with contention in last year’s Open. His short game and putting will need to carry him through but he’s a very traditional links player who could maybe cause an upset. You can still get 250/1 which is a fair each-way price, however it will be hard to compete in back-to-back Opens for a player of his standard.

So yeah, my main pick is Henley. I’ve got him at 85/1 win only on the exchange too. He no doubt will bite me on the ass which he seems to always do when I’m on him. But overall, I’m worried about Scottie and Rory but I think there’s too many question marks surrounding them at the price they’re at. Same can be said for Xander. Out of all the favourites I’d probably side with Hovland but I’m just focusing on outsiders. We’ll be there on Wednesday, chatting more shit as per usual. See you then.
