In early 20th-century Los Angeles, Dolly Oesterreich hid her lover, Otto Sanhuber, in her attic for over a decade while married to a wealthy man. Otto only emerged when her husband, Fred, was away, never leaving the house. In 1922, during a fight between Dolly and Fred, Otto came down and killed Fred, staging the scene as a burglary. The truth was later uncovered during the investigation.
