This pre-existing injury would keep Rollins out of action for "a little while" but "much sooner" than WWE are likely going to state publicly. Dave Meltzer also said he was told that Rollins' Money in the Bank cash-in would come "out of nowhere": "Everyone is insisting that he’s hurt. And we were told he was hurt. And everyone’s saying yes he’s hurt. And there’s also the Jon Pollock story (who said on POST Wrestling's SNME Review that he was told two days before SNME that an injury angle for Rollins was planned). "There’s also a third option, which somebody today told me what happened, they say what is going on is the reason these stories are conflicting is because he is hurt, but what happened on Saturday was a storyline, meaning he is hurt but he did not get hurt on that spot. "That spot was a cover for an injury that he has, which he will have worked on, and they are in Birmingham and so the idea that was suggested is that he will be out of action for a little while but they’re gonna say nine months or whatever, but he will be back much sooner than that."
