The diversity of Ethereum’s L2 rollups, like Arbitrum, Polygon, Optimism, and StarkNet is a strength, but their lack of interoperability creates fragmentation. @EspressoSys' confirmation layer, part of the Espresso Network, unifies these chains by enabling secure, real-time data sharing. 

Using their HotShot consensus protocol, espresso ensures that rollups can confirm transactions and exchange data (e.g., token balances, contract states) in seconds while maintaining BFT security. This allows L2s to function as a cohesive ecosystem, where a smart contract on Arbitrum can interact with one on Polygon without relying on slow or centralized bridges. 

For example, a decentralized marketplace could list NFTs across multiple rollups, with bids settled instantly.
