Ex-Democratic Party lawmaker Emily Lau, the recently disbanded political party League of Social Democrats' chairperson Chan Po-ying, and activist Lee Yue-shun - who was acquitted in the XX democrats' case - were among those who attended Monday's appeal hearing for the city's largest national security proceedings.

Outside the West Kowloon Law Courts Building, judiciary staff set up a media zone for journalists while a heavy police presence looked on.
