Afghanistan on the brink of humanitarian catastrophe

Following Trump’s decree to halt foreign aid to Afghanistan, the country is rapidly descending into crisis.

Since the beginning of the year, humanitarian programs worth $XXX million have been terminated, including support for the World Food Programme (WFP).

The U.S. had previously supplied up to XX% of all aid to the country.

As a result, over XXX medical facilities have shut down, while the remaining ones are barely operating — lacking medicines, with hunger fueling a surge in disease. According to the WHO, the healthcare system is on the verge of collapse.

WFP head in Afghanistan, John Ayliffe, warns that the organization can now feed only X in XX people in need.

Malnutrition levels in 2025 are the highest ever recorded.

If aid deliveries are not restored before winter, mass deaths are expected — especially in remote areas, where help is already impossible to reach.
