Peter Schiff is backing Donald Trump’s claim that college isn’t worth it for most people.

Schiff argued that trade schools are a better option for high school grads who aren’t academically inclined. He took it further by suggesting the U.S. should eliminate the minimum wage so teens can gain real-world experience as apprentices.

Schiff believes minimum wage laws block young people from getting hands-on training, which he sees as more valuable than overpriced degrees. This isn’t a new stance for him—he’s long criticized college as being oversold and out of touch with today’s job market.

New data backs up his view. A March survey from Indeed and The Harris Poll found that XX% of Gen Z workers with a degree said it wasn’t worth it. Many feel they could have done their current jobs without college at all. Student debt and low returns have left younger generations questioning the value of a degree.

TV host Mike Rowe agrees. He’s pushed for more investment in trade schools and says there's a major shortage of skilled workers in fields like energy and infrastructure.

His message is simple: if you have an in-demand skill and a strong work ethic, you’ll thrive—no degree required.
